The standard X-Class, as supplied, sits level when unladen, unlike most pick-ups which sit “nose down”. Combined with relatively soft suspension, carrying a meaningful load results in a very “tail down” stance, which as well as looking as though overloaded, also upsets the balance of the vehicle.

Pedders recognise this and have produced a range of load carrying kits to suit all uses from occasional load carrying to permanently heavily laden. Below is a list of the kits and the purpose they are best suited to. Pedders Heavy Duty Variable Load Suspension Kit (803263)

This kit utilises an airbag kit and a pair of shocks. It retains the standard rear springs so both height and ride comfort are unaffected when operated in the unladen condition. When load is carried, the bags can be inflated using an airline (the same as used to inflate your tyres). This kit is suited to those who only occasionally carry load, but significant weight when doing so, but mostly run unladen.
